Face of compassion
Chaplain Ross
Meet the Director of the Hispanic Family Ministry
Jorge de Casanova has always had a heart for service: “God drew me to helping people in the name of Jesus, and I love to do what I do,”
he states. In Peru, his career involved social work and parachurch organizations. After coming to the States, he was pastor of Westover Baptist Church and head teacher of a learning center for at-risk kids in Arlington, VA. He then spent ten years as pastor of the Hispanic congregation at Immanuel Bible Church in Springfi eld, VA. That’s where
he met with David Treadwell, Central Union Mission’s executive director, to start a ministry for Hispanic families in 2000. Pastor de Casanova has been married to his wife Nora for 32 years, and they have a grown daughter and son. He is also currently pastor of
a congregation in Centreville, VA, and recently elected president of the Fellowship of Hispanic Pastors.

“You’ll find love here—real love. It’s God here. This place will make you believe.” –STP graduate, Steve
Walking alongside men seeking to restore their lives is humbling and joyous. We are deeply grateful for the privilege of seeing smiles like Steve’s--smiles of triumph when Christ has made a difference in yet another life. We pray that more people like Steve will come our way this year!
