Feed My Family Drive

We are temporarily stopping receipt of gift-in-kind donations at our shelter with the exception of the following items: hand sanitizer, isopropyl alcohol, Clorox wipes, Lysol, boxes of tissues, and N95 masks. These items should be dropped off at the Men’s Shelter located at 65 Mass Ave NW Washington, DC 20001.

We will continue to accept all gift-in-kind donations at our Comprehensive Family Resource Center.

Host a drive at your business, in your neighborhood, church, club, or make it a family project to help Central Union Mission feed a family in need.

Donate non-perishable foods to feed the hungry people that come to the Mission for assistance.  Larger or bulk size items are preferred.
Needed items include:

  • Bagged or canned beans
  • Boxed rice, pasta dishes
  • Canned vegetables
  • Canned fruit
  • Canned soup
  • Canned tuna/chicken
  • Jello
  • Peanut Butter
  • Jelly
  • Pasta
  • Pasta sauce
  • Macaroni
  • Honey
  • Cereal
  • Grits
  • Hot chocolate
  • Syrup
  • Pancake/waffle mix
  • Corn bread mix
  • Spices
  • Sugar
  • Flour
  • Cooking oil
  • Condiments -in plastic bottles
  • Paper products

You can drop off the food that you collect at the Comprehensive Family Resource Center, 3194 Bladensburg Rd. NE, Suite B, Washington, DC 20018 9AM-3:30PM.
