from Disabled Veterans National Foundation
Washington, DC (July 2023) — Central Union Mission is honored to receive a grant from the Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) for $18,000 which will help veterans who are experiencing hunger, homelessness, and unemployment. The Mission provides emergency support, rehabilitative services, long-term job training, and employment placement to help veterans in our care realize their potential.
“We gratefully acknowledge veterans’ contribution to our nation and stand by the adage “no man left behind,” as we honor the dignity of each person we help, ensure that their basic needs are met, and support them in their journey to rebuild their lives,” said Central Union Mission President & CEO Joseph Mettimano.
Joseph VanFonda (USMC Sgt.Maj. Ret.), CEO of the Disabled Veterans National Foundation said, “The work at Central Union Mission is vital to the veterans in Washington, DC who are in crisis.
