Expanding Impact Across the Region
The opening of Mission: NOVA in August 2024 marks a new chapter for Central Union Mission. This center is quickly becoming a cornerstone of the Northern Virginia community, offering services such as food and clothing, job training, addiction recovery support, ESL classes, legal aid, and more. Joe Mettimano, President & CEO of Central Union Mission, expressed his excitement about the Mission’s expanded reach:
“This is a pivotal moment in our history. With our presence now firmly established in Northern Virginia, we’re able to bring the care and hospitality we are known for to even more people across the DMV. A meal is often the first step toward a brighter future, and we are honored to serve in this way.”
Why It Matters
For many, Thanksgiving at Central Union Mission is more than just a meal—it’s a beacon of hope. A simple act of kindness, like a warm meal or a grocery bag filled with holiday essentials, can inspire individuals to take the first steps toward overcoming poverty and hopelessness. This Thanksgiving, Central Union Mission invites the community to witness and share in the transformative power of compassion as it reaches every corner of the DMV.
