Washington, DC—February 14, 2025—On Friday, February 14, Central Union Mission will host its annual ‘Every Man’s Birthday’ event, a heartwarming celebration for men experiencing homelessness in the D.C. area. This one-of-a-kind event, which begins at 4:30 p.m. at the Emergency Shelter, is an opportunity to surround each man with expressions of God’s love, honor their lives, and make them feel truly celebrated.
The Mission’s cafeteria will be transformed into a festive, heart-filled space, complete with a Valentine’s Day theme. Every man in attendance will be recognized with a birthday cake, personalized card, and a sweet treat – all prepared by the Mission’s own Chef Rick.
“The men we serve at Central Union Mission deserve to feel loved and valued,” said Joe Mettimano, Mission President & CEO. “On this Valentine’s Day, we want to show them that they are not forgotten, and that they are important. We believe this event will be a source of joy and encouragement for all who participate.”
This year’s celebration is designed to make each man feel respected and cherished on this day of love. It is a unique opportunity for the Mission to extend compassion and support for men experiencing homelessness in Washington, D.C. The ‘Every Man’s Birthday’ event exemplifies Central Union Mission’s commitment to offering a place of refuge, care, and dignity to those in need.
