Central Union Mission Aims to Reduce
Poverty and Unemployment
Provides Job Fair for Job Seekers
Washington, DC – May 21, 2024 – Central Union Mission’s Comprehensive Family Resource Center (CFRC) is excited to announce its upcoming Job and Resource Fair, scheduled for Tuesday, May 21st from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Hosted at the Mission’s family center, located at 3194 Bladensburg Road NE in Washington, DC, the event aims to connect community members with valuable resources and employment opportunities.
The CFRC Job and Resource Fair will serve as a platform to promote essential resources to all individuals seeking employment and in need of social services. Participating organizations will include prominent social service agencies from Washington, DC, and Maryland, paid job training resources, hiring organizations, and job coaches. Participating organizations include Truist Bank, Passport Auto, Coca-Cola Consolidated, United Healthcare and many more.
“We are thrilled to host this event, which underscores our commitment to empowering individuals and families in our community,” said Mission President Joe Mettimano. “Whether you’re seeking employment or support services, this fair will provide valuable opportunities and connections to help you take the next step toward stability and success.”
Attendees can expect a range of additional offerings at the event, including free resume workshops to enhance job-seeking skills, free groceries for participants to alleviate immediate needs, raffle items, and free professional headshots to boost job application materials.
“We encourage all attendees to come dressed to impress and bring their resumes,” added Brandon Bragg, the Mission’s Senior Director of Workforce Development and Education. “This event could mark the beginning of a transformative journey towards a brighter future.”
The CFRC Job and Resource Fair promises to be a dynamic and inclusive event, welcoming individuals from all walks of life to explore opportunities for personal and professional growth.
