Turkeys Needed

Washington, DC— November 7, 2018—Central Union Mission usually distributes 1000 Thanksgiving turkeys to hungry families every November, but this year we’re running 550 turkeys short. Joe Mettimano, Central Union Mission’s executive director, explained, “We have more needy families coming to our Family Ministry Center than ever before.”
Please inform our community that people can contribute uncooked fresh or frozen turkeys to Central Union Mission by November 19 at its homeless shelter at 65 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20001, or at its food distribution facility (Family Ministry Center) at 3194B Bladensburg Road, NE, Washington, DC 20018. Family Ministry Center participants are available for interview and photographs by appointment. Families receiving turkeys are available for interviews and photos during the turkey distributions November 19-21 at 10:00AM or at 1:00PM at the Family Ministry Center. Media is invited to attend.
